MACOMB, Ill. – McDonough District Hospital has launched a new program to help patients register for their clinic appointments in advance.
The Registration Accelerator program, launched in conjunction with Experian Health, will allow patients to securely pre-register for their appointments, upload insurance card information, upload their identification card, and electronically sign consent forms. All this will help save time during the check-in process.
The program was rolled out to patients with appointments with the MDH Bushnell Family Practice. Over the next few weeks, patients with appointments in the other MDH outpatient clinics will receive a text message or email on the new Registration Accelerator program.
This process will consist of several step-by-step instructions. Patients will need a device with a camera, their photo ID, and insurance card(s). All information will be saved for future visits.
- Verify their personal information
- Take a picture of the front and back of their ID
- Fill out the demographic information
- Upload a clear picture of the front and back of their insurance card(s)
- Verify their insurance information to be billed for the visit
- Review and sign forms
After all the steps are completed patients will get a confirmation of their appointment details.
“Patient satisfaction and convenience are important to MDH. With the ability to provide patient information such as address, phone, etc., upload insurance cards and IDs, and sign consents, the time spent checking in will be streamlined and take less time,” said Sandy Hern, MDH Senior Director of Revenue Cycle.
