MDH Welcomes Dr. Leilani Segura to the Pediatric Clinic

MACOMB, Ill. – McDonough District Hospital welcomes Leilani Segura, MD to the MDH Pediatric Clinic.

Dr. Segura is accepting new patients and also fluent in Spanish. She joins Julie Bartlow, CPNP-PC, NNP-BC in the Pediatric Clinic, located on the first floor inside Health Services Building 2, and accepts most insurance plans.

“Dr. Segura recently moved to Macomb and has been integrating herself into the community. I find Dr. Segura to be a great fit to our MDH culture and community,” said MDH President & Chief Executive Officer Bill Murdock. “She has the energy to exceed in meeting our pediatric patients’ needs. I am confident she will deliver excellent patient care to those we serve.”

Dr. Segura recently completed her Pediatric Residency at the Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She was part of a primary care practice that saw 75-80 patients per day. During her Residency she worked with children of all ages, from newborns (including working at a Level III B NICU) through teenage years.

She worked on screenings for social determinants of health, postpartum depression, developmental delay and autism, depression/anxiety, PTSD, and problematic substance use in adolescents. While working in her Residency she worked with a cross-section of organizations ranging from those represented by: social workers, community health workers, licensed clinical social work and intimate partner violence counselor.

A graduate of New York University with a bachelor’s degree, she attended medical school at the Universidad Iberoamericana in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. While in medical school Dr. Segura volunteered on three different medical support operations in the Dominican Republic, including a medical mission with the United States Army in 2016.
