MACOMB, Ill. – Following a special McDonough District Hospital Board of Directors meeting held Thursday morning (Feb. 1), the Board members voted to extend Bill Murdock, MBA, CPA, as the hospital’s interim Chief Executive Officer to February 20, 2024.
Murdock has been serving as interim CEO of the hospital since being appointed by the Board on December 28, 2023, when it suspended President/CEO Brian E. Dietz with pay. Dietz’s suspension with pay will also continue to February 20. At that December 28 meeting the MDH Board of Directors voted to investigate allegations against Hospital management.
The Board continues to process information from the investigation and voted to extend Murdock as interim CEO.
Dietz first joined MDH as interim President/Chief Executive Officer in June of 2018, and was named by the Board as the organization’s seventh Chief Executive Officer in April 2019. That same month, Murdock joined the Hospital as its Vice President/Chief Financial Officer, a role he held until being named interim CEO.
