MACOMB, Ill. – McDonough District Hospital announced the promotion of Trisha Getz, RN to Director of Quality, Safety, Risk Management and Performance Improvement.
Over the past four years Getz has worked at MDH in the Quality Department. She worked closely with the hospital’s clinical leadership to implement improvements in the quality and improvement process.
That hard work and dedication was a main reason why MDH returned to an A grade in hospital safety from The Leapfrog Group last fall. Getz has been instrumental in the hospital’s on-going quality improvement program that led to an improvement in the Medicare star rating and to keep current with the changes in the CMS quality reporting.
“We are happy to announce Trisha’s promotion. She has worked very hard to improve our Leapfrog Group and Star rating scores,” said MDH Chief Medical Officer Edwin Card, MD. “She has been invaluable in identifying areas of improvement that provide us with opportunities to make the care which we provide better and safer.”
She received her Associate Degree in Nursing from John Wood Community College and a National Certification in Surgical Technology. During her career she has worked at the Blessing Health System Surgical Center in gastroenterology and at Memorial Hospital (Carthage, IL) as a surgical technician, surgical circulator, surgical scrub first assist RN and in the PACU.
