MACOMB, Ill. – National Hospital Week officially kicked off on Sunday, May 9. McDonough District Hospital administration announced this week an employee incentive program for those who have already received a COVID-19 vaccination and any staff member who will by June 30.
In an effort to show residents of McDonough County the importance of receiving a COVID-19 vaccination, MDH announced employees received a full $250 (after taxes) on their payroll check. The incentive program will be issued to current employees (other than Operations Council members and MDH physicians) who have been fully vaccinated and open to those employees who decide to get vaccinated by June 30.
“Getting the COVID-19 vaccine is a critical step in our efforts to combat the devastating consequences the spread of the COVID-19 virus has had on our country and community. Everyone in our county, and particularly McDonough District Hospital, should be vaccinated to do our part to stop the spread,” said MDH President/CEO Brian E. Dietz, FACHE. “It is our sincere hope that offering a bonus to our colleagues will encourage everyone to take this seriously and do their part in keeping our coworkers, patients and visitors safe.”
The first MDH employees received a COVID-19 vaccine on December 16, 2020. Since then, 65 percent of MDH employees have become fully vaccinated. The Hospital’s goal is a 95% employee vaccination rate.
