Pre-Registration Option Now Available for Outpatient Laboratory and COVID-19 Testing

MACOMB, Ill. – McDonough District Hospital recently implemented the convenience of a pre-registration option for patients needing outpatient laboratory tests or a COVID-19 test performed.

MDH patients can call (309) 836-1753 between 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Friday to pre-register for outpatient laboratory testing inside MDH. Patients can also call the number to pre-register for COVID-19 tests performed at the MDH Drive-Thru.

This new pre-registration option allows patients to reduce wait times inside the hospital.

Patients are not required to pre-register for COVID-19 tests on the weekend, they can show up at the Drive-Thru for testing from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

“By offering a pre-registration service, we hope to expedite the registration process and reduce wait times. We want to provide the best experience possible for our patients at MDH,” said Sandy Hern, Director of Health Information Management.

According to Laboratory Director Brittany Doll, this new feature will benefit laboratory patients who pre-register.

“I see this as a real patient satisfier by giving the patient the option to call from the comfort of their home to register prior to coming in the hospital. It will help shorten the overall time requirement for blood draws,” said Doll, who also noted that outpatient laboratory services will expand once the permanent MDH Drive-Thru building is completed.

Current hours for the MDH Drive-Thru for COVID-19 testing are: Monday-Friday from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. and 9 a.m.-1 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

Outpatient laboratory hours are Monday-Friday from 6:30 a.m.-6:30 p.m. and 6:30 a.m.-1 p.m. on Saturday-Sunday.
