MACOMB, Ill. (MCHD) – On Monday, February 1, a local call center is available and open starting at 10 a.m. for McDonough and Schuyler County. The call center will provide Question & Answer services regarding the vaccine, and will assist in booking appointments (residents 65 and older, and essential frontline workers in Phase 1B).
The toll-free number for the COVID vaccine Call Center is 833-665-4VAX(829)
The hours of operation are Monday-Friday: 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Residents can call this center for vaccine-related questions, and schedule an appointment with one of our phone operators.
During the creation of the call center, the McDonough County Health Department partnered with The McDonough Telephone Cooperative (MTC) in helping configure phones, connection and routing numbers, and ensuring to help with landline operations.
The Regional Office of Education (ROE) and West Central Illinois Special Education Cooperative (WCISEC) has allowed operational space intended to staff phone operators during the expansion of the call center.
"On behalf of Regional Office of Education #26 and the West Central Illinois Special Education Co-Op, we’re happy to provide our conference room for this life-saving effort,” says John Meixner, Regional Superintendent of Schools. “As these challenging times continue, we’re proud to step up in our community and help others."
Remember to check out the COVID-19 vaccine website www.getyourcovidshot.com for more vaccine-related information.
