• Began at MDH after graduation as a night shift ICU nurse and occasionally helped in the Emergency Department
• Took over as the Head Nurse on day shifts
• Worked in Acute Care and Pediatrics
• Involved in the planning and moving to the current ICU location on second floor
• Clinical Care Coordination in ICU for 30 years, performing Utilization reviews on ICU and Acute Care patients
• Developed and taught a 6-week orientation for all new ICU nurses, served as an ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) instructor, and PALS certified
• For six years worked as the Director of ICU, Acute Care, Pediatrics and Outpatient Infusion Services
• Coordinated and taught the first Paramedic program in the 1970s
• Chairman of the committee that planned and oversaw the building of the Westervelt Home
