Giving / Development Council

McDonough District Hospital is a public, tax exempt hospital that provides care regardless of a person's ability to pay. Although organized as a municipal corporation, the hospital has not taxed the community since 1989. Funds received by the hospital as a result of philanthropic efforts provide an alternative to debt and patient charge financing, thus benefiting MDH, its patients, and the local community.

Among many identified uses, gifts to McDonough District Hospital establish programs, purchase equipment, improve and develop facilities, and fund education efforts. Gifts, which are tax deductible, can be designated toward a particular MDH program or facility or can be unrestricted for use where the need is greatest. MDH is thankful for the generous support provided by our donors.
